Welcome to Consultants for Global Programs
CGP is the educational group that brings about unique and tailor-made programs in selected countries where we have special interests. We primarily work in China and India, as well as in the United States. We have also worked in Cyprus, South Africa, Mexico and Spain. As a growing nonprofit organization with dozens of contacts in these countries, we have the unique ability to tailor programs to suit participants' needs and to provide personal, one-on-one service.
Some programs abroad are on a cost-plus basis for most, making the packages extremely reasonable and competitive. Almost all of our programs provide housing, meals, tuition for students, materials, international roundtrip airfare, local travel in host country, university fees, and limited medical repatriation insurance as part of the total program fee. Exceptions are noted on program web pages and the schedule of programs on this website.
In addition, CGP offers international seminars and workshops regarding China and India in local US communities. These programs are related to trade, commerce, business, education, leadership, environmental studies.
About the Founder of CGP:
Dr. Larry Kavich is the founder and continues to be the President and CEO of this international education non-profit organization, titled Consultants for Global Programs. It was founded in 1993 and continues to be a unique small non-profit organization that has functioned over the years with needed international education programs in the following countries as well as bringing related international programs to the local communities in Northwest California.
"I have known Dr.Larry Kavich, CGP President and CEO, for many years, even before he was the founder of CGP. He was one of the pioneers for Chinese educational programming in the State of Iowa. We got to know each other when I was the President of the Iowa Peace Institute in Grinnell, Iowa (1988-1992). Over the years, he has initiated and conducted international education programs that concentrate on international peace and personal involvement. This included programs in China, Bi-Communal Cyprus, South Africa, Mexico and here in the United States in the State of Iowa. You can rely upon his international education background that dates back to 1981. Consultants for Global Programs is presently one of the few remaining small international education non-profit organizations."
-Ambassador John W. McDonald, Chairmen and CEO, Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy"
"Consultants for Global Programs (CGP) has provided outstanding services for students and faculty. They have developed unique overseas and domestic programs. My experience with CGP has been professionally rewarding. I recommend their services. I have worked with Larry and his staff along with a milestone workshop in Cyprus which brought together the higher education leaders from both Cypriot communities. Also, we have collaborated successfully in China and Hong Kong on student faculity programming. I have been associated with Larry since the beginning of (CGP) both as a board member and advisory council member. "
-Dr. Robert Leestamper
Former Vice President for International Programs, University of Northern Iowa
Former Deputy President, Richmond University, London, England
"One of the problems with many international efforts in education is that they start and stop and start again. Larry, like the Energizer Bunny, doesn't stop once he starts. Neither does CGP! I have great confidence in Larry Kavich's work and programs as well as his integrity. I have known him since high school and the home town we share. I knew him during my stint in Washington as head of the NEA's National Commission on Teacher Education and Professional Standards and then as Deputy Commissioner in the United States Office of Education. We are fortunate to have Larry's leadership for so many years. The CGP's work is more important than ever."
-Don Davies Professor of Education Emeritus, Boston University, Founder and President, Institute for Responsive Education.
