Program
Objectives: Teach Chinese middle school students to practice and improve their
English. ·

Topics: American History, American Culture, Health Care, Education, Public
Transportation, Housing, Traveling, Employment, and Daily Life. ·

Excursions:
Guilin, rural minority counties, which include other scenic and historic sites

Also, there is a 500-Yuan stipend. ·
Activities:
3 hours of morning instruction and 1.5 hours in the afternoon, Monday

Student Exchange: Study Abroad at one of Cyprus’ 18 International
Colleges and Universities that are current CGP affiliates. •
Professional/Faculty/Teacher/Student Research Opportunities with stated
higher education institutions. •
Environmental Engineering Workshops in Waste Management, Soil
Mechanics, and Marine Geotechnology; other workshop topics may include those
relating to Water Resources. Workshops are available for students, faculty,
and related professionals.

Public School Workshops: US –
China & Cyprus Comparative Education
•
Interactive
Teaching relating to the Chinese or Cypriot education systems, classroom
teaching and activities, as well as Chinese or Cypriot curriculums.
•
American Teachers, who have taught in China or Cyprus, in addition to
Chinese or Cypriot teachers, interacting and sharing experiences with American
teachers to familiarize participants with difference of instruction and use of
Chinese or Cypriot instruction in local American schools.
•
Group discussion and processes, led by the Chinese or Cypriot and
American teachers, will assist in providing information that has not been
covered in the workshops. •
Mock classroom experience using students from local schools.
Guest speakers and performances provided to additional cultural
context.
