TESTIMONIALS...
Here's what others have to say about programs with Consultants for Global Programs...
I spent two months having the most wonderful experience in my life. I was a teacher a number of years ago and was burned out because of what was happening in the system and with the students. I went into business for a number of years. I was in a rut; helping in China with CGP changed all that. Since then I have been going to China more and more each year. Now I spend three to four months in the USA and three months in China. At first I continued to help some of the students I worked with at the school as a mentor. Many of my original students were young Chinese wanting to learn “Business English” and business practices. I am not an English teacher, (for those who wish to read my blogs you will be able to tell). I am and was a businessperson. The thing is, it does not matter as CGP helped me make a person-to-person contact with people who really want to learn and make a better life for themselves. I was hooked. Next with my help, we opened a small juice bar, “49 Juice Bar”. The idea was to give these new business people hands-on experience. Along with the bar, we had the tutoring center. We have tutored local people from all fields of work: hotel, firemen, restaurant, government, and retail. Then they began to ask us to tutor their children. Now we tutor several classes on weekends. The juice bar is open but mostly now for the kids to get drinks. In the evening we have free Open Talk and have students from the many English schools come by and talk to each other and foreigners who I invite. Even when there are no foreigners, the students learn about their own country because they are always from different states (provinces).
During this time I have been working on two projects with the local schools. The first is an exchange program with schools in the USA. I contacted a couple of High Schools in my hometown to see if they would like to have a email exchange program with students in China they said they would be interested. We are working out the details now but the hope is to get the administrator, teachers and students writing to each other. I already have a school in Yangshuo wanting to do it. The next project I am working on is with the government. Yangshuo has a growing reputation as the place to go to practice your English because of all the foreigners there. A few local teachers, both foreign and local and myself thought Yangshuo needed a cultural exchange center. A place where the cultures could mix and mingle. We are now in the process of finding a suitable site. The government has several buildings that are available but do to the fact that the best ones gets grabbed up by businesses that are willing to pay high, right now our hopes of getting a free building is not likely but we have looked at some that are very affordable. It is just that now the government needs to show an income and from what I can tell that does not have to be much in order to get us a building. The renovations will be completely upo to us.
So... as you see a passing conversation with a client has changed my life. I will always be grateful to Larry and CGP for the chance to come to China. If you want to see what I have been up to visit my travel pod at http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog/bob8888/5/tpod.html or alternatively, go to www.travelpod.com and search for me “bob8888”. -Bob Findlay, CGP China Participant
"The whole workshop proved to be interesting, effective and fruitful. It was professionally organized and directed by Dr. Larry Kavich. The field covered by the workshop has been really extensive and closely related to the participants' expectations."
-Cyprus-American Scholarship Program Workshops Participant
"What a delightful bunch of people and such obviously excited students! They are loving it! My objective in this fax is to congratulate you on what is obviously a most successful program."
-Parent of Mexico Program Student
"I opted for this program because it was less expensive and more activities were organized for the students. I appreciated the fact that all arrangements were made by CGP...It was a pleasure working with the staff of CGP. I will highly recommend this program to my friends and family and other students."
-China Program Student
"First, I have nothing but lavish praise for the entire program, its content, focus, and both the planning and organization that went into putting a complex program together. As a person who has been a college teacher for thirty years and has had a wide variety of educational experiences, I can honestly say that my participation in the program at GNU [Guangxi Normal University] was one of my most personally rewarding experiences."
-Summer China Teaching Program Participant

“I first came into contact with CGP through a client of mine who knew I like to travel. He asked me if I had ever been to China and I told he no but it is on my list. He told me about a boyhood friend who had an organization looking for teachers to go to China this year. That was in 2005. After that summer my life was change.
